Toolbar resources in FrameMaker ≤ 8 (Windows)
At the time of FM 5.5 Shlomo Perets from MircoType created a guide to modify or even expand the contents of the toolbars in FrameMaker. Later he provided an enriched toolbar for FrameMaker. This add-on became a must for every FrameMaker user. ToolbarPlus Express .
For users of the German user interface (UI) of FrameMaker Klaus Müller
from ITL translated the cfg and ini files
of this toolbar. I continued this work. See Enhanced

This page provides an overview on all available icons (in reality they are small bmp
files) and their names, which must be known to address them. These names are – for
example – used in $FMHOME/fminit/fmtoolbr.ini (or in the case of Microtype's
enhanced toolbar: $FMHOME/fminit/configui/fmtoolbr.ini).
Data source: The information (images, resource names) is extracted from FM 8.0p273 international-english, but I have not found any differences in FM 8.0p277 or the German versions.

Usage of the images
The files with the images are located in $FMHOME/fminit/.

The images presented on this page and in the overview PDFs are not in original size. I have collected the images in these ZIP files: fmcustom-bmp.zip, fmdlg-bmp.zip and fmres-bmp.zip.
Note about certain image sources
It may be that the images for the toolbar are limited in its size by the program code. I have noticed that the default becomes the large Sigma in case the intended image is not accepted.
Images from fmdlg.dll
It seems that these images can not be used in a toolbar definition
- at least not in an english FrameMaker. If, for example, the definition in fmtoolbr.ini

It seems that these images can also be used in toolbar modifications.

Images in fmcustom.dll
These images are used, for example in $FMHOME/fminit/fmtoolbr.ini.
The list is in alphabetic order of the names. The resources in the dll are
ordered by purpose.
For FrameMaker 8 the images for plain tect, bold text , italic text and underlined text have been changed form P, B, I, U (which had to be localised) to T, T, T and T. Generally the images have been modernised. Most of the images are 18x18 pixels, some (especially from the vertical toolbar) are 16x16 pixels (these are indicated).
The images presented in this table are not in original size. They are 'blown up' and hence of variable resolution. To see the original pixels, look at the extracted files.
